As the wind sweeps through the valley, we arrive at the Sunlit Meadow, a sanctuary of nature. Gyroscope sculptures dot the landscape. Sitting quietly on the grassy steps, we listen to the chirping of insects and birds amidst the dappled light and shadows, feeling the gentle breeze caress our faces. Here, we journey alongside all living things, keeping watch over nature.

White stone steps, sunlit lawns, and vibrant flower beds create an elegant “Cloud Bridge Theatre.” In this spatial design, we moved beyond conventional, purely ‘viewable’ landscaping to incorporate adaptable “open spaces” that trigger multidimensional social interactions, fostering immersive freedom.

The expansive open lawns and open spaces are a major highlight of Central Park, inviting people to gather here for both private and large-scale outdoor activities. The vast sunlit lawns feature multifunctional areas like the Wild Campground, offering residents a cutting-edge, diverse, and vibrant urban lifestyle.

Rising from the flat plains and waterways, the gently sloping hills formed by earthworks enhance the park’s visual appeal and charm. Surrounded by towering buildings, the man-made and natural landscapes blend seamlessly, infusing the area with vibrant green energy.

At the center of another grassy area, the design team created a playful, rustic activity zone using sand, soil, and wood—natural elements beloved by children—where kids can run wild and let loose. While children engage in their own games, parents can set up camp on the surrounding lawn. This allows them to keep a watchful eye on their little ones while also enjoying some well-deserved time for themselves.

Just as Central Park embodies its founding vision, we hope people of all ages can freely enjoy recreation here, experience the power of nature, and participate in civic life. Living here, you can fully immerse yourself in the city’s excitement and vitality while breathing fresh air and finding healing in nature.

The garden lounge connects to the lawn theater, featuring an expansive, pristine sun-drenched lawn. Its sunken seating area complements the lounge bar’s scenic layout, enhancing spatial fluidity. The lawn theater, enclosed by gentle topography and vegetation, not only enhances the privacy of the garden meeting area but also extends the visual horizon of the landscape.

Vegetation extends to connect two distinct landscape spaces. The natural amphitheater—enclosed by coconut palms and micro-topography—echoes the resort-style pool beyond, creating an open-and-closed spatial relationship.

We envision hosting social family activities on the open lawns in the future—such as luxury camping, nature education, outdoor movie screenings, and intimate concerts. With the mountains and sea as our backdrop, imagination knows no bounds. Here, people can witness the shifting light throughout the day, building a vibrant energy field for life with ample time and abundant spirit.

Connecting diverse community spaces through boundless means, it serves as an energetic playground that integrates daily leisure, fitness activities, and children’s play.

▽Sports Park

Here, young people radiate vitality and showcase the trends of tomorrow’s youth. A circular path connects the children’s activity area with the sunlit lawn.

Amidst the dappled sunlight and swaying greenery, a dream-making space comes into view. Combining vacationing with leisure, this multi-purpose corridor creates a space for the new generation to share dreams and set their minds free.

Mien Ruys’ experimental garden features a Yellow Garden, whose foundation is formed by the existing curved larch hedge and the pergola near the current new collection garden. These two elements are interconnected by placing a circle near the curved section of the hedge and the end of the pergola. The larch hedge serves as the boundary’s backdrop, with its curves causing the boundary width to vary continuously. The grass circle is also slightly sunken, with a 10-centimeter difference in height, creating an enclosed, secluded effect.

Plant a variety of yellow plants in different shades, ranging from pale cream to deep yellow and orange. When selecting a plant color, not only is flowering important, but also the shape, structure, and texture of the leaves. The rounded top of the golden cherry blends seamlessly with the circular forms in the garden and adds extra depth.

This garden also offers some design insights:

1. Circular lawns remain effective. While circular lawns are now a common design feature, this one is exceptionally refined. Surrounded by plants except for two opposing entrances, it offers clear views beyond the circle. The tree serves as a powerful focal point that draws the eye. The garden balances a sense of enclosure with openness.

2. Subtle changes make all the difference. The lawn is intentionally dipped slightly, with a 100mm elevation difference enhancing the sense of enclosure and privacy. Most people probably wouldn’t do this, but when you stand there, surrounded by thick yellow flower borders, it seems to work. Mien Ruys called this her “magic circle.”

3. Don’t be afraid of yellow. Many clients tell designers they prefer any color in their garden except yellow. But imagine how different this garden would look with a different palette. Yellow is the color of sunshine, making it the perfect choice for this open circular space.

The garden unfolds in a vast spiral pattern, resembling the coiled shell of a nautilus. Tens of thousands of plants are arranged in interlocking, large-scale curved flowerbeds, cultivated in a naturalistic style that eschews rigid regularity and mimics natural plant communities.

A beautiful courtyard filled with poetry and distant horizons

This area was originally a bare expanse of grass, but through careful design and planting, it has been transformed into a vibrant garden space.

When viewed from above, the garden clearly reveals how the lawn paths are designed to lead toward an ancient wild olive tree and massive natural granite boulders, which form part of the garden’s distinctive natural landscape.
